1. “Adventure Is Closer Than You Think: Eight Years of Climbing in Macedonia” – Radovan Džeparoski, climber and member of Skopje Alpine Club.
“My presentation will cover my beginnings and how I discovered climbing, followed by an overview of my activities and climbing over the past eight years. Through photographic stories, we will explore the cliffs of Macedonia, first ascents, and untouched landscapes. You don’t have to travel far to discover new places and enjoy a great adventure. On the contrary, there is so much to explore right here in Macedonia. Or, as they jokingly say in the Struga dialect: ‘There’s plenty of work for those willing to work!’”
2. “Supercouloir beneath Takul: A Step Forward in Alpinism” – Ilija Ciriviri and Martin Pejoski, climbers and members of Matka Alpine Club and Patagonia Alpine Club.
At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, in winter conditions, Ilija Ciriviri and Martin Pejoski climbed the Supercouloir route beneath Takul. This ascent marked a major step forward in technical alpinism for our generation. Behind this achievement, however, lie years of work, countless winters spent ice climbing, the opening of new first-ascent routes in Macedonia, and unsuccessful attempts in the Alps.
“Every vertical formation tests not only physical endurance but also the psychological limits of a person. There are environments where mistakes are unforgiving, and the motivation to confront the harsh reality of the mountains remains incomprehensible to much of the public.”
Drawing on their experience, Ilija and Martin will talk about the journey leading to this ascent, the challenges, failures, and lessons along the way, as well as the motivations that keep drawing them back to vertical challenges.
A story about alpinism without romanticising it or resorting to clichés. About the work that precedes success, the limits that are pushed, and those who choose to go beyond the ordinary.
