Beyond imaginable – extreme alpinism by Filip Babicz
An exclusive meeting with Filip Babicz – an extremely versatile mountaineer and climber,
who practices at high-level disciplines such as fast and light alpinism, winter
mountaineering, drytooling, highballing, deep water soloing, but his undoubted specialty is
speed free solo climbing.
During the meeting, Filip will talk about some of his most incredible achievements. Last
year, he shocked the mountain community by linking the four ridges of the Matterhorn in
under eight hours, tracing a huge figure eight on its ridges! On Mont Blanc, he climbed 570
meters of perfect granite on the Grand Capucin in just 49 minutes! Another of his most
brave performances is the very first rope solo ascent in the history of Gritstone of a E9
graded route. It was the case of Appointment with Death, an icon route in Peak District in
England... Filip will tell us about this and more – a Polish mountaineer with a unique story,
who is living in Italy for over 20 years now, in the Aosta Valley at the foot of Mont Blanc
where he pursues his career by achieving feats at the limit and redefining what is possible.
